While a novice in the IT industry, I had always wondered how much it would cost to develop a website. As a result I had a craving to understand the fundamentals in developing a website to the extent that it became a passion for me to design websites.

Domain names are like internet data subscriptions that expire within a given period. They usually expire on a yearly basis, so they need to be renewed at the cost which the registrar is using. Therefore, in most cases, if you bought the domain name for N2,600, you would renew at N2,600.

Our websites are equipped with security measures such as the use of website backend security tools to detect spam, suspicious login attempts, file change detection, etc. We also install Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client—typically a web server (website) and a browser, or a mail server and a mail client, which protects card information and passwords preventing hackers from being able to steal and use the information.
These tools have advanced versions which cost more, as compared to the standard version. This is where clients’ budgets come in.
Different hosting companies offer different levels of security, and the higher the security measure and features they offer, the more expensive the hosting would cost.
In respect to the number of members on a website, it would depend on the following:
In the case of accommodating trillion or million of registered members and handling up to a hundred thousand users online without trafficking issues the package would have to be with a high level of a dedicated server.
With high volume of users and traffic, the security payment cannot be a one off but a continuous payment to ensure constant prevention from hacks.
Please Note:
With all these, it does not mean that these measures offer 100% security, as if hackers are determined to hack your website, like they have done with security agency websites, they can but with website backups in place, the hack can be overridden.

You can actually create a website for free, using any of the free website services available on the net. Though, the domain name will be an extension of their domain name. E.g yourwebsitename.wordpress.com
But you cannot create a professional website for N5,000, considering you will need
