It started like a joke but unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic is here, and we do not have a choice but to cope and survive. Sadly, people have lost jobs, some have had their salaries slashed, while others are suffering from the increase in the cost of living, e.g. transportation, feeding and other necessities of life.
There is hardly any organisation, institution or business that hasn’t been affected, in one way or the other, by COVID-19
In a country like Nigeria with its prevailing problems of insecurity, high rate of unemployment and poverty, epileptic power supply, low access to clean water, etc., to mention a few, and now the world is hit with this pandemic. This begs the question:
What are the business opportunities one can take advantage of during COVID-19 in Nigeria?
The reality of life is that with problems comes ideas, which gives birth to solutions and in turn translates into business opportunities, which can be financial, philanthropical, intangible, etc.

As mentioned above, problems bring about opportunities, so one has to look at the problems people are facing and how he/she can provide the solution. Examples of such problems are:
Restriction of movement
This a problem whereby people avoid going out unnecessarily due to stress and being victims to the spread of the virus.

Yes, there are: Take fore instance, there are things people need which if they could find a better, affordable and convenient way of getting them, they would take advantage of it. Can you offer services of getting those things for them?
You do not have to start big, or need money to start, but can start with people you know and are close by.
The more people at home, the more there are things to be done in the house, e.g. cleaning, washing, cooking, payment of house utilities, etc. Is there a solution you can offer here?
Closure of Schools
Due to the closure of schools, children are home, and can be a handful to parents. Can you offer your services like babysitting, tutoring, etc.?
Schools may be closed for students but not closed for the administration and staff. They will still need to communicate with their students, and carryout their duties to the students and parents. Are there services you can offer to the schools, teachers and even parents, in respect to school activities? Like educating school administration, staff and parents on how to leverage on technology. Even if you are not a software developer, you can be an intermediary and receive your commission.
The pandemic has taught us the importance of vocational skills/jobs, so if you have these skills you can help train students or adults.
Means of income
Those who do not have jobs need means of income and those who have jobs want extra means of income and the question is how?
There are Business Opportunities with regards to affiliate and referral programs.
Take for instance, there are businesses whereby people sell or make clothing, shoes, etc. and are not used to online marketing. You can negotiate with them by promoting their products via social media and getting commissions on the sales you generate for them. You can even manage they social media handles and get paid periodically.
There are a number of online businesses that offer affiliate and referral programs, such that you subscribe with them for free and anyone who uses your link, number, name, etc. to buy or register for their paid subscription, you get a commission.
